About

Adam Snare is a member of the England Gundog Team (2022/2024),

KC Non-Panel Judge, keen shot and picker-up who competes in both gundog tests and field trials.

As well as running for the England Retriever Team at the Ragley Hall CLA Gamefair, the Blemheim Palace Gamefair, Scone Palace and the Skinners World Cup, he was also selected for the UK Gundog Team 2022, winning the KC International Test at Capesthorne Hall. He qualified for the first time to the IGL Championship in 2023 with his dog Trevear Constantine of MeareCastle.

Obsessed with dogs since a child, Adam has been training gundogs for over 20 years. From his first Labrador Blyvalley Amy, to trialling spaniels and then moving on to HPR's trained as trialling, shooting and deer stalking dogs, the journey just got more interesting and more of a passion.

Learning from experienced gundog handlers while shooting and picking up, the knowledge started to build. Great friends were made and many hours training were spent in the beautiful countryside with some truly superb working dogs.

As time went by the search for new and better ways to train led to travelling the country, spending time and training with successful handlers and trainers, with a special few becoming valued mentors. These people understood breeding for temperament - and training for success - in both the shooting field and in field trials.

Adam continues to invest in the highest level coaching for himself from the top handlers he admires. Learning from and training alongside people who are better than you is hugely valuable.

Working & Trialling Gundogs

While regularly working his dogs for his own shooting and picking-up in the field, Adam competes with and against some of the best handlers in International gundog competition.

Over the last few years while still running the Vizsla/HPR and coaching at the Norfolk and Suffolk HPRFT Club, Labradors have been the focus with numerous awards in tests and field trials.
